The
competition between Edward and Jacob only heats up in Eclipse. Bella is
preparing to graduate high school and change into a vampire forever. Edward is
encouraging his girlfriend to wait a while longer before making such a final
transformation into a "monster" like him. And a third party has
entered into the relationship with them. Jacob Black, knowing that Bella's
human days are drawing to a close, decides to make his final move to secure
Bella for his own. Eclipse is two supernatural boys fighting over one
ordinary girl. Now, that's a good story, folks.
In this
chapter, we will begin to pick out the paint colors for our house. Will you go
with the sunny and warm colors of the wolf pack or the serious, dark colors of
the vampire coven? Bella is faced with a choice in this book. Eclipse is a summary of Bella’s
maturation process throughout the Twilight
series. When I first read Eclipse,
I wanted to hit Bella upside the head with the hard cover of my book. Her
immaturity and indecisiveness drove me crazy. When I read Eclipse for
the second time, I saw how beautifully Stephenie Meyer painted a picture of
transition from adolescence to adulthood. For Bella to fully understand her
decision of vampire conversion, she must face every choice that will be denied
in the human life. It is easy for us as readers to think of this story as
something similar to our own romantic relationships. Eclipse pushes this love story farther into the fantasy realm so we
can see the down sides in this make-believe relationship between Bella and
Edward. The main theme from Ephesians that can be found in Eclipse is power. Like the power found in this fantasy series,
Ephesians 3 shows that God’s power is greater than anything we have ever known.
God has a plan that grows into full maturation with Paul and his ministry.
