About “For the Love of Forks” website,
Sally says:
I am a small part of this website’s
equation. The God-given idea sprang from years of pulling out spiritual themes
from the arts and culture around me. Brian and Beth Prewitt have spent hours
upon hours having these kinds of discussions with me and my husband. In fact,
the idea for this book came from a book that Brian gave to me several years ago
about the spiritual themes found in The
Lord of the Rings book trilogy.
Others have listened to my ideas along
the way and just simply provided encouragement and belief in God’s calling to
this book. Thank you to Karen Bryan, Cathryn Walling and Gretchen Dowdy for
spurring me to action.
Some women and girls took the time to
listen and learn about these Bible themes when my ideas were still in their
infancy. Thank you to all those who weathered my first classes around Ephesians
and the Twilight series. You gave me
the hope that I needed to press on.
The readers of my blogs and others who
have sent me notes and emails about this book deserve great recognition, even
the naysayers. You are why I am publishing this book. Your desire to dig deep
and think critically fuel my own passion for sharing this study.
A few dear friends have read
manuscript after manuscript and provided valuable edits and insight into
writing this book. I cannot adequately express my gratitude and humility around
the gift of your review. Thank you to Amy White, Holly Barrett, Beth Prewitt,
Cheree Moore, and Dave Verhaagen.
A rigorous thank you goes to Holly
Barrett again for making this website possible. She knows how to help a girl
out! You can follow her musings at Reclaiming A Redeemed Life.
I want to thank my family for
supporting me throughout this process. Your encouragement and excitement have
been contagious. Most of all, I want to thank my husband and children for
enduring the brunt of this writing storm. Your patience and pushing are just
what I needed to finish the race with this project. I love you dearly and
always.
